We waren te laat om onze trein tickets te boeken naar Ella, maar hij heeft elke dag, ‘s avonds tot laat en ‘s ochtends vroeg online gekeken of er toch geen nieuwe tickets beschikbaar waren. Eindstand kon hij op het laatste nippertje 2 plekjes voor ons bemachtigen. Verder super lekker ontbijt en avondeten hier! ☹Het kan hier best fris worden en veel regenen, wat uiteraard geen verantwoordelijkheid is van het hotel, maar hier zijn ze niet helemaal op voorzien. Hoteleigenaar is zeer behulpzaam en aardig. Regelde voor ons treintickets naar Ella, héél fijn!!!! Nuwara Eliya is beslist de moeite waard. Wij bezochten de theeplantage Elookabie en genoten aansluitend van een high-tea in t Grand Hotel. Beide geweldige ervaringen.

The host was very kind and helpful - the moment we arrived, he helped us with the bag, made us hot tea and ensured we had a good rest before we were brought to our room. Room was okay tho we wish it's a bit spacious. Most importantly the room was clean and very comfortable for a night stay. You get to see the lake on a sunny day. Very pretty! Breakfast prepared by the host was fantastic! We wanted a local bfast but due to time constraints, we opted for the continental breakfast. Location wise was a bit challenging as the road to the hotel was steep and uneven. During our vacation in Sri Lanka, my wife and I stayed here for one night and it was a satisfying experience. We picked this place based on the strong reviews online and it did not disappoint. Terrabella is located a bit further from the town centre, but getting there by tuktuk is easy and inexpensive, less than USD3. In fact, the short ride itself was an enjoyable way to see the surroundings of Nuwara Eliya. The property is more like a bungalow with several guest rooms. It has a charming British-style interior that makes it feel homely. Our room was on the first floor, comfortable in size, and had its own balcony with a view of the lake. Watching the sunrise from there was a highlight of our stay. At night the weather turned very cool, around 13°C, so no air conditioning was needed. The bathroom was surprisingly large and the hot shower worked perfectly, which was much appreciated. The caretaker was extremely kind. He welcomed us with a cup of hot tea on arrival, the perfect gesture in the chilly climate. Breakfast was tasty and filling. Even though we had an early checkout, he made sure we had a nice American breakfast before leaving. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to provide room slippers since the floor can get freezing at night. The owner and staff are very kind and friendly, and the rooms and facilities are always really clean. I especially enjoyed the meals prepared by the owner. Every dish was absolutely delicious! It was really nice to return to a place where l’m always welcomed with a warm smile and can enjoy hot, tasty meal after exploring the beautiful city of Nuwara Eliya in a cool weather. El alojamiento está limpio y está regentado por una familia encantadora. Es verdad que el lugar aunque es bonito, está un poco apartado de todo, por lo que es imprescindible contar con vehículo para moverse, especialmente si está lloviendo, que en esta zona es habitual. El wifi no llegaba muy bien a la habitación, pero no es un problema grave tampoco.

Het hotel bevind zich op stijle wandelafstand van het meer. Onze activiteit die dag kon niet doorgaan door dikke mist en nog meer regen, maar met een boek in het salon was ook niet slecht. Er staat een gsm mast naast het hotel, dus de beste ontvangst en wifi ooit! De service en het eten was ook top.Posted onVerified Great Place. We have been travelling around Sri Lanka for a couple of months and this is the best guesthouse we have stayed in. The manager Mr Aruba is so welcoming and thoughtful. The building is quite new. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and everything was spotless. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend staying here.
